This company, with registered business establishment located in Carballeda de Valdeorras, Spain, is a holding entity made up of 65 businesses with subsidiaries in nine countries and 22 quarries. It was founded in 1968 by the union of several Spanish slate producers who decided to combine its efforts in the extraction and production of slate. The group’s two main businesses are CUPA PIZARRAS, the world leader in natural slate; and CUPA STONE, the experts in natural stone. CUPA STONE, the experts in natural stone, is a group of companies spanning the entire value chain of natural stone, with producers, processers, marketers and distributors in several countries, such as Spain, Portugal, France, Brazil, China, Denmark, Norway and the United States. CUPA STONE offers more than 500 natural stone products of the highest quality all over the world: granite, quartzite, sandstone and marble. The company has six quarries (in Spain, France, Portugal and Brazil), exports its products to almost 60 countries and has 21 distribution centres throughout Europe.
